Christopher J.L Little,
BVMS, Ph.D, DVC, MRCVS

chrisChris Little taught cardiology and respiratory medicine at the University of Glasgow from 1987 to 1998. He holds a Ph.D for studies of chronic ear disease in dogs and has also been involved in the development of veterinary laboratory equipment.  Chris joined the staff of the Barton Veterinary Hospital in 1999.  He has published numerous papers in scientific journals and has spoken widely at clinical and scientific meetings both in the UK and abroad. He is a very active member of the Veterinary Cardiolovascular Society. Chris is an advisor to the RCVS for the Certificates in both Veterinary Cardiology and Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Vanessa Nicola,
DVM, Cert V.Ophthal, MRCVS

vanessaVanessa joined the Barton Veterinary Hospital soon after graduating from Liege in Belgium in 2001. She had spent much of her practical training at the BVH prior to graduating. She developed an interest in Ophthalmology and enrolled for the RCVS Certificate in 2003. Vanessa obtained her Certificate in 2007 and works here full time seeing first and second opinion cases. She also  particularly enjoys surgical cases and takes charge of most soft tissue surgery at the Barton Veterinary Hospital.

 

Rob Thomas
BVSc, Cert.SAC, MRCVS

robRob has been actively involved in small animal internal medicine and cardiology referral in Canterbury for 25 years.  During that period he has seen a steady increase in the number of cases. He is an advisor to the RCVS for the certificate in Veterinary Cardiology and was recently on the examiners comitee. He has been awarded several prizes during his carrer for his contribution to the veterinary profession particularly in the cardiology field.

 

Karen Casswell,
BVSc Cert V Ophthal MRCVS

Karen visits the Barton Veterinary Hospital one day a week to offer both Ophthalmology and Acupuncture services. She graduated from Bristol in 1993 . She obtained her Certificate in Ophthalmology in 1999. Karen then trained as an acupuncturist. She particularly enjoys travel and photography. She produces amazing pictures of the interesting cases she sees. Karen owns two Cocker Spaniels, Suzie and Kirsty.

 

 

 

Helen Groves-De Milleret,                                                               BVM&S MRVCS 

Helen qualified from Bristol and started her career at the Barton Veterinary Hospital. She then worked in Pfizer and had her own practice in Bridge for a while. She came back to BVH in 2005 and we will not let her go again. Helen has a particular interest in veterinary Dentistry and more recently trained in Veterinary Acupuncture. She is keen to develop pain management clinic for our arthritic patients. She also likes treating small furries and rabbits.

Julien,
DVM MRCVS

Julien

Julien graduated from the university of Liege in Belgium in 2001 and worked in Kent ever since. He joined the Barton Veterinary Hospital in 2005. He soon developed a special interest in small animal Dermatology and enjoy seeing challenging cases in that field. More recently, he became involved in digital technology and veterinary website development. He is the co-founder of www.vetstoria.com which aims at improving the communication between the pet owner and their veterinary practices.

 

 

Jean-Benoit Lefebvre,
DVM DipECVS MRCVS

 Jean-Benoit is our visiting specialist surgeon for complex cases. He graduated in 2002 and undertook a residence in small animal surgery in Cambridge between 2005 and 2008. He gained his European Diploma in Surgery  early 2009 and offers a mobile service since.
